As part of the Endeavor Schools Family , Wellington Preparatory Academy is seeking a Custodian to ensured the cleanliness and sanitation of the school building while upholding high standards of health and safety. The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Custodian will report directly to the School Leader and will work collaboratively with staff to create a positive learning environment for students

Essential Tasks:

• Perform routine cleaning of classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors to maintain cleanliness and safety.
• Empty and dispose of trash in designated areas.
• Sanitize high-contact surfaces to promote a healthy environment.
• Maintain restrooms by cleaning, restocking supplies, and addressing minor repairs.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down for school events and activities.
• Monitor and report maintenance or repair needs to the Facilities Manager.
• Ensure cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent hazards and maintain compliance with school policies.
• Buff and polish tile floors to enhance their longevity and appearance.
• Clean both the interior and exterior of windows to provide clear visibility and a professional appearance.
• Replace light bulbs and perform basic maintenance to ensure a well-lit and safe environment.
• Assist with decorations and setup for special events or school functions.

Skills:

• Attention to detail.
• Prompt on assignments.
• Ability to use standard office equipment such as a laptop computer and smartphone.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate in written and verbal forms of the English language and at a level 90-95% of the parents and staff are able to understand.
• Ability to use standard office equipment as a laptop and smartphone.

Experience and Education:

• Highschool Diploma or GED.
• Previous custodian or janitorial experience a plus.

Pay Range

USD $15.00 - USD $16.00 /Hr.
